What has the world called you?  

I pondered that question for a week.  The world had called me a lot of things. 

 

What does God call you?  

My daughters name is Kathleen.  One night I was at the drug store talking to a Kathleen about her name.  As I walked away, I thought how pure and innocent she seemed.  She just gave off that impression, after only speaking to her a few moments.  I knew her name meant purity. All day long everyone who knew her would call her "Purity."  Calling things forth.

 

Jesus in you is the hope of glory 

My name means truth.  Jesus is my Truth.  And, I need to be careful not to believe lies or withhold telling the truth, and I can usually spot a lie pretty well.  So maybe, just maybe, one of my jobs, purposes, and paths in life is for the character trait of God’s truth to shine through me.  Perhaps the meaning of your name is part of your life story and the meaning of your name is how God wants to shine through you to a lost and dying world (Phil 2:15).  Your name glorifying his name.  This is how you are known in heaven.

 

I also believe whatever your name means the opposite can come against you.  

There were many lies I believed about myself.  We have an enemy who comes to kill, steal and destroy our life.  He knows the meaning of your name and whatever God means for good satan will use against you. For example I met an Erin one time, her name means peace.  She told me she had "no peace" in her life.  I gave her Joyce Meyers book the Pursuit of Peace.  As we talked, her anxiety level came down and her spiritual eyes were opened to an enemy who was plaguing her with dis-peace.  God wanted to give her peace, so she could give others peace.  She is known in heaven as peaceful.
